Dark Shadows Game

for 2 or 4 players

OBJECT:

To be the first player to move from START to FINISH.

BEFORE PLAY:

Decide who will deal. Dealer shuffles the cards and deals 4 to each player. The remainder of the deck is placed facedown on space marked DRAW.
  Players each choose a moving piece and place it on START.

PLAY:

Player to left of dealer begins. He draws a card from the DRAW pile and adds it to his hand.

To advance his moving piece, he must discard a card that matches the symbol in the next square. If player has no card to match symbol in next square he must discard anyway but may not move. Play continues to the left. Players may choose any path they wish but must continue along it once they have started. They may not move backward and take another path.

   If square is red or black, a card with that color symbol must be played. This can be a BARNABAS or VAMPIRE card that has a symbol of that color in the corner.

When square contains a green number, either a red or black card with a matching number can be played.

   On squares labeled VAMPIRE and BARNABAS, either card can be played, but on squares labeled BARNABAS, only a BARNABAS card can be played.
   When DRAW pile is gone, the DISCARD pile is shuffled and placed in the DRAW area so play can continue.

WINNER is the first player to move into FINISH by playing the proper card.
